Nigeria Music Award – London, August 12 ’06

The awards event guarantees the best can offer in music and unbridled entertainment, bringing together the creme-de-la-creme of the Nigerian and the African communities with all the glamour, panache and style that that entails.


The award aims to provide Nigerian artistes in the UK, USA and worldwide, a platform where their fans can show their appreciation for their good work and separate the best from the rest.
The event will feature live performances from Sunny Neji, Weid MC (UK), Pasuma, Dare Art Alade, Samy Okposo, D banj, TU Face, plus fashion shows, cultural displays and the awards ceremony itself.
Fans and leading music industry professionals will have the opportunity to nominate musicians in different categories, who they feel deserve their special recognition and have made important contributions to the Nigerian music industry.
Thereafter, the first three in all categories will be pitched against each other by a public vote. The nominees with the greatest number of votes in their categories will receive the coveted Nigeria Music Award. So your vote counts!
The nominations cover artists working in the following genres Juju Music, Afro Beat, Fuji, Gospel Music, Highlife, Hip hop, Reggae, R&B as well as Album of the Year, Producer of the Year and Music Reporter of the Year.
