When Benji B’s Deviation returned to Cable, top of the ‘wants list’ to play was Brainfeeder’s Martyn with some cuts from his new album and here’s a preview couple on a single.
The new album is called Ghost People and Gilles Peterson had a phone interview this week with the man himself (the Dutchman now living in Washington DC, see links below). The single came out last month and it looks like these arn’t the only tracks on the album that’ll be raving about on the album which takes a more dance than his 2009 debut Great Lengths.
With the transfer to Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label this is going to be one of the albums of the year along with the incredible Thundercat album, The Golden Age Of Apocalypse also on Brainfeeder. Even if there’s been no bad release on this label (see Samiyam, Teebs, Daedelus, TOKiMONSTA, Matthewdavid, Ras G, Austin Peralta, The Gaslamp Killer and more) it just goes to show how healthy music is at the moment. Go check it all out!
