Eight quality jazz dancers that followed a whole batch of material that came out at the same time. The remix 12” ‘Beyond The Moon’ by Spiritual South Remix, another 12” with a cover of Horace Silver’s ‘Gods Of The Yoruba’, ‘Gica’s Dance’ on the Freedom Dance Project and the ‘Alborado/Congart’ release on Afro Art.

You could drop any track on the album in a club and it’d get the crowd going. My favourite track is ‘Jazz Alley’ which reminds me a little of the ‘Seeds’ project of ‘Blends Sabu Maritnez and Sahib Shihab’ (which appears on the CD version of the album).

‘Jazz Alley’ is followed by yet another great one, Freddie Hubbard’s ‘The 7th Day’. The other cover version is ‘Bite The Nite’ (cool vibes Francesco) whilst Frisina and Vinvenzo Lo Greco have written all the other tracks.

It all kicks off with the opener ‘Cortante’, which is a bit of a warm-up for man of the match Gianni Lo Greco on drums and percussion. Having said that, like Nicola Conte’s Schema releases, the musicianship and production are true International quality.

Getting ready for Carnival, ‘Batucafro’ and ‘Gusto De Que E Bom’ are the ones with scat and vocals by Helena De Piño but like l’ve said, you can’t fault any track. You can see why Schema has such close links with Ricky-Tick in Finland.

Ever since the Ad Lib and Hi Note albums, Mr. Frisina has been dancing with the Gods of the Latin Kick. This is just the best album. Frisina shoots, he scores.
