The creativity of African artists Lebo Mathosa, Mandoza, 2-FACE Idibia, JJC & 419 Squad, Seun Anikulapo Kuti, DJ Jacob and Asa will be on display to millions of music fans via MTV's global network of 69 music TV channels, showcasing African talent to 418.8 million households in 164 countries around the world!

Rave reviews greeted MTV base's two launch concerts, held last month in Johannesburg, South Africa and Abuja, Nigeria. Music fans in both countries took MTV base to their hearts as the world's hottest urban musicians gathered for a night of thrills, chills and excitement to celebrate the historic launch of MTV base, MTV's first ever African music TV channel, and MTV Networks' 100th channel worldwide.

More than 2,000 people partied to the sound of Ludacris, 2-FACE Idibia, Asa, JJC & 419 Squad and DJ Jacob in Abuja on 15 April, while 20 April saw in excess of 10,000 dance through the night to the awsome sights and sounds of Will Smith (featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff), Ludacris, Lebo Mathosa, Mandoza and Seun Anikulapo Kuti and Fela's Egypt 80 Band.
