They were trained on the basics of camera and photo composition, getting lots of hands on practice and feedback, and then were supplied with cameras to go out to the field for the live experience.

The results were shown in a private exhibition at the end of 2004.There were 24 participating photographers and more than 100 visitors to the exhibition. Participants were enrolled in programs in Kiwohede, DogoDogo Centre and Don Bosco Youth Centre, as well as three Dar es Salaam secondary schools.

Funds raised at the Mawazo gallery exhibition will be put towards MM-TZ photography and multimedia trainings. Donations are also welcome.

Music Mayday organisations provide facilities and assistance to young individuals, aged between 12 and 27 years. This empowers them to express and communicate with peers through the use of creative, artistic and communicative means such as music, dance, theatre, video and new media.

Offered facilities include workshops, cultural youth centres, festivals, brainstorm clubs, youth magazines and more. In addition, young para-professionals are trained in the area of event organising and artistic and communicative development. Besides enhancing the capacity of young people to express themselves in an artistic manner, further assistance is provided by stimulating creative entrepreneurship and support for international communication, exchange and cooperation.
