COMMENTS

those who voted no notting about african music.
this idea that Youssour N’Dour is africa’s greatest has to stop. He is only popular in Europe becuase he has European managers, agents and promoters. His music cannot be compared to the music of Franco, King Sunny Ade let alone the music of Fela Kuti and Mariam Makeba.
You people should study the music of africa since 1940s and not believe the hype about Youssour N’Dour

The greatest African musician according to 150 votes? Please be serious! There are far superior vocalists musicians from the continent apart from Youssour N’Dour .Yes he is a good entertainer but a great one? Only in European settings possibly because the listening audience does not know better and force fed a certain diet of African music.
Some of the finest singers and musicians come from Congo, Koffi Olomide, Pepe Kalle, Franco Zimbabwe, Thomas Mapfumo, Oliver Mtukudzi Guinea, Fode Baro Why are they never included except in a minor thought? I concur with the first comment. Educate yourselves and don’t always fall for the hype!

A.F.T die.

goodbye Ali,
he is in travelling to the last concert,
another star play the sky….

invitati a suonare.

an’kié ali!!!
il tuo spirito si farà ascoltare ancora per molto
negli anni a venire.

It is very disgusting to hear you people feast on an area you do not know about. Did I hear that people voted Yoossur Ndour as Africas greatest musician ever?

We were all a living witness to What King Sunny Ade did to World music. His singular contribution to this genre, is what Youssour,Baba Mal, Keita, and the rest of the crew are benefitting from.

No one will take you guys seroius if Sunny ade is missing on your list. Nigeria was where the world music phenomenom began. end of disscussion!!!
