Later, while living in Havana, he joined the salsa band Charanga Latina directed by Enrique Alvarez. Charanga Latina remains one of the top salsa bands in the world and performs regularly throughout Europe and Latin America.

With Charanga Latina, George made an album, and had the opportunity to perform alongside salsa stars Alfredo de la Fe, Rolo Martinez, Maracas, Manolito y Trabuco, Pablo F G y La Charanga Habanera. George’s compositions, ‘Como firma en un papel’ and ‘Axtracto de lo natural’ were number one hits and were played non-stop on Cuban radio.

George is a dynamic performer with a distinctive voice which is both sensual and thrilling. All his music is original and combines Afro-Cuban rhythms with elements of hip hop and rap and Latin jazz creating a melodic but very vibrant sound.

At the beginning of the year 2002, George released his first album A Cuba, which he has been promoting through his own salsa band.

November 2003 he made an extensive tour of Cuba including Havana, Varadero, Holguin, Camagüey and Santiago de Cuba, where he was voted Best New Artist. While last year he could be seen playing with his band across the UK and had the opportunity to sing with English pop star Will Young.

In October, George is launching his new album Bohemio with a live salsa show at the Scala theatre, King’s Cross.
