As mentioned by Gilles Peterson on his show last week, there’s a big party going on in München as Compost is 15, the Black sub-label release their 50th release and Michael Reinboth turns 50; and all that deserves a big line up.

Take a deep breath as live there’s Marbert Rocel with DJ support from Kruder & Dorfmeister, Gilles Peterson, DJ Hell (Gigolo), Beanfield, Jazzanova (DJs), Rob Galliano / Earl Zinger (MC), Christian Prommer (he of Drum Lesson Vol !), Roland Appel, Alex Dallas (Drumpoet Community), Eddy Meets Yannah, Jay Shepheard, Shahrokh, Michael Rütten (Soulpatrol /Soulsearching), Florian ‘Party Keller’ Keller & Theo Thönnessen (Into Somethin’), Thomas Herb and probably some more surprises on top.

Regular readers with know that we’ve covered so many of these artists over the years but it would have been impossible to have kept up with all of their 350 catalogue releases (that’s over 2500 songs) and but Karma’s album is always a good listen; Latenight Daydreaming and the ever excellent Future Sound Of Jazz series. Not only that, I’ve heard on the grapevine that the Robert Owens follow up to the Night-Time Stories album is mostly produced by Atjazz and is going to be a big surprise!

Peter Kruder is one half of the legendary tag team Kruder & Dorfmeister from Vienna, founder of the Voom:Voom project (with Roland Appel and Christian Prommer) and formerly known as the Peace Orchestra, follows up the recent solo release on the Macro label (the rather magnificent ‘Chordal/Law Of Return’ which was his 3rd in 15 years) with the Compost Black label’s 50th Peter Kruder.

Drumpoet Community is anther Compost side project that’s we like to keep an eye on (check out Ray Okpara).

Mr. Peterson is a busy boy this week as on Friday he’s at Guarnabara 5th Birthday 9th October along with London School Of Samba (hey, why not the Magic Drum Orchestra?), DJ Limao and DJ Dan Seixas.
