Africa Lives on the BBC - Launch 26th June 2005

The launch of Africa Lives on the BBC: Sunday, 26th June 2005 12 noon - 5pm (JJC & 419 Squad on stage at 12.45 noon) In the forecourt of the British Museum, London FREE!

On Sunday 26th June the BBC and The British Museum host a day of free activities which bring the continent alive for visitors of all ages.

Special BBC guests will drop by to join in the fun on the day. The live music stage will include Mozambique's number one band Massukos, trans-continental diva Mbilia Bel, African Children's Choir from South Africa, Afropean hip hop stars JJC & 419 Squad, Batanai Marimba, Thabani Band, Modou Diof & O Fogum, and Seydina Insa Wade & Oumar Sow.

Make sure you also visit the Islamic galleries where BBC 3's Africa on your Street will be hosting sublime acoustic music including Modeste Hugues, Linos Wengara Magaya and Coco Mbassi.

AFRICA LIVES ON THE BBC
During June and July the BBC will offer a huge variety of programmes exploring African life and culture. Check out the extensive website to find out what's on TV, radio and online.
