Balkan Fever - London, 16 - 30 June '06

London’s first Balkan Fever festival. Catch Balkan Fever!

Irina Karamarkovic is playing at the Balkan Fever festival

Balkan Fever - London is a chance to hear some of the most exciting and creative musicians from the Western Balkans region. The festival is a co-production between the Austrian Cultural Forum London, Kazum! and Balkan Fever Vienna and is timed to take place during Austria’s Presidency of the European Union. With Tea and Mirella Hodzic, Irina Karamarkovic, Toni Kitanovski and Cherkezi, Kries and Kal.

Four of the groups appear on 2 nights in different combinations with each other, so you get a chance to hear each group play two different sets in different venues with other musicians in Balkan Fever London. See below for special festival deal.

Thank heavens we will be seeing real Balkan music for a change! I’ve seen such homegrown rubbish it’s about time we are all properly educated!
The worst was a band called Mukka at the Purcell room, which apparently John Peel liked “what an excellent noise!” he said! Noise was right!
I am looking forward to hearing some real Balkan music for a change!
