Cinematic Orchestra - Man With A Movie Camera & Ma Fleur Live (10.10.08)

The Roundhouse in Chalk Farm has hosted a few events in its time but how about this one, the Cinematic Orchestra performing their most recent albums, Man With A Movie Camera and Ma Fleur

Cinematic Orchestra

Ninja Tune and Soundcrash present the Cinematic Orchestra with Lou ‘Music Box’ Rhodes, Heidi ‘Higher Skies’ Vogel and Grey ‘To Build A Home’ Reverend for this special one-off event.

After the massive Everyday album, Man With A Moviecamera took the Cinematic Orchestra “to the next level” as Jason Swinscoe’s modern day soundtrack to Dziga Vertov’s classic black and white film of 1929. That album came out 5 years ago and well worth digging out again but if you’ve not got it already, no worries as the concert precedes the re-issue of the Man With A Movie Camera DVD in November.

Not only that, the news is that Creative Review will be screening an exclusive world online premier of their latest film titled To Build A Home (from Ma Fleur). Directed by Andrew Griffin who has a reputation of reinventing the music video has created a truly moving piece of 35mm film with highly acclaimed actors Peter Mullan and Julia Ford. This film will be on general release as a download from October 27th (for more details see www.cinematicorchestra.com/film).

A night that promised to be as every bit as good as their Royal Albert Hall gig last November (see HERE) and another feather in Rob Soundcrash’s ever impressive hat of gig promotions.

And not only that, Concert Live will be there to capture their fantastic live show and make this recording available at the venue instantly after the performance and then only via www.concertlive.co.uk. The CD will also include an exclusive 3rd photo disc which will include 20 instant photos taken on the night of the show. The photos will be exclusive to this release and will include intimate back stage shots of the band, their performance and the venue.
