This message came through from the organisers:

"We regret to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control, Children of the Andes has taken the difficult decision to cancel the performance by Circo Para Todos and salsa band Palenke on 26 May.

The reason for this decision is that in order to stage some of the larger circus acts it would have been necessary to install temporary rigging in Conway Hall. Despite us having made it clear to the management that this was a circus event, we were informed at the end of last week that the venue does not in fact have the necessary licence for such rigging. We would therefore be forced to limit the performance to basic ground acrobatics.

Rather than asking the students to perform under circumstances that would fail to do justice to their skill-range and professionalism, we have decided to cancel the event. We are all obviously extremely disappointed at the loss of a valuable opportunity to see the students perform and to raise funds for the Circo Para Todos project.

A full refund will be offered on all tickets already purchased. We will be contacting those concerned as soon as possible to discuss this.

October 17-18: Contemporary dance performances by students from the Colegio del Cuerpo ('Body School') at the Bloomsbury Theatre

December 1: The Children of the Andes Christmas SoirÈe
