Colours of Ostrava 2006 - Czech Global Music Festival, July / August '06 |

The Colours of Ostrava is a multi-genre festival with a special focus on world music that, in one time and place, is able to present a very diverse and rich program featuring international stars from the world music stage as well as introducing groups as yet unknown to the local public whose music, once heard, remains with you forever. The festival is also a platform for leading Czech and Slovak musicians and the alternative music scene, as well as offering such attractions for the visiting public as drumming and salsa workshops, daily theatre performances, and — not to be overlooked — a well-organized and highly enjoyable environment for both festival-goers and performers. Zlata Holušová, the program director of the Festival, is enthusiastic about this year’s program: “From the rock legend Robert Plant to the king of African music Salif Keita, from belly dancing to gypsy punk, from the African Day to the Children’s World… This year we will also have over 30 international bands — the most we have ever had in the history of the festival. I am very proud of our African Day, because it will be the first time where African culture will be presented in the Czech Republic by such talents as Salif Keita and Cheikh Lô !” Festival Tickets - Where, when and how much? Dear Sir or Madam
Having completed a two years research on film making in Africa and the
Who’s who in Nigeria Entertainment encyclopedia project, we are interested to learn the Slovak films and Theatre art forms, to improve our heritage
industry….
Since we are embarking on a European tour soon, we believe that our participation to your festival will be a boost to the upcoming presentation of our projects.
Basically we wish to apply for accreditations for our team to come and experience first hand the Slovak theatres and art forms.
please kindly let me know.
Thank you.
