It should be a brilliant fusion of academy and street with Orlando Poleo — recognized as the best conga player in the world, renowned international concert pianist Clara Rodriguez and prize winning, Paris-based percussionist Diana Montoya getting together to pay homage to the African continent. 6th & 7th April 2006 at 7.30pm Bolivar Hall The programme will include the first performance of Diego Silva’s Africa Mia — an impressive canvas that delves deep into the main rhythms and rituals of Africa and Afro-Venezuelan traditions. Plus the Merengue by Federico Ruiz; Afro-Cuban Dances by Ernesto Lecuona, El Negro José by Aldemaro Romero and Bongo-0 by Puerto Rican Roberto Sierra. Clara Rodriguez - Piano |
