The 2007 festival is the 23rd Music Village since 1983 and presents over 80 top-class performers of African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American, Mediterranean and Eastern European origin — all of them drawn from London’s diaspora communities.

The event builds on the great popular success of the 2005 Diaspora London Music Village, the first of the Music Villages to focus exclusively on London’s extraordinary array of world cultures.

Among the artists invited to appear are: Kasai Masai (Congo); Fuerza Vallenata (Colombia); Ameer Khan (Pakistan); London Jing Kun Opera (China); Los Desterrados (Sephardic Jewish); Waeil (Egypt); Athena Andreadis (Greece); Ethio Traditional Band (Ethiopia); & Yusuf Mahmoud (Afghanistan); Nizar Al Issa and Al Zaytouna (Palestine) ; Paprikus Balkanicus (Balkans); The Engine Room Collective (UK/Caribbean).
