HEATWAVE VS MAS FUEGO! FIRST BIRTHDAY BASH - LONDON | FLY

The 1st Birthday Bash features the return of Riko Dan of the Roll Deep Entourage, who smashed it at Heatwave vs Mas Fuego back in April with an extraordinary hour-long ragga set.

The recording of Riko’s performance last year was downloaded thousands of times from their website, gaining accolades from all over the world. This time he’s bringing along long-time sparring partner and fellow former member of the Pay As U Go cartel, God’s Gift. Expect the liveliest, grimiest, bashiest raggamuffin styles this side of Kingston. Rumour even has it that Riko — who made his debut as a selector on BBC 1xtra on Christmas Day — will even jump on the decks and clash the Heatwave DJs… Don’t miss this one!

Keeping it bubbling nicely are residents Heatwave and Don Lubi with their unique blend of the hottest dancehall/bashment, reggaeton, R’n’B, soca, Latin hip hop, reggae and a dash of ragga jungle.

From September 2006, they will be running two brand new monthly events. The main Heatwave dance will continue to take place on the third Friday of every month at The Pool in Shoreditch, with the Heatwave DJs and MCs plus occasional guest artists bringing the best in dancehall/bashment, reggaeton, hip hop/R’n’B, soca, reggae and ragga jungle. This kicks off on Friday 15th September, which is also Heatwave’s birthday - three years on from when the night first started out at The Reliance just around the corner on Old Street.

The Heatwave DJs will also be playing once a month at The Embassy in Islington - usually on the second Friday of the month, though in September it’ll be the first Friday (1st September).
