Hip Life Festival 2007 - Coronet, London, 25 August

Last year saw the birth of the Hip Life Festival and despite a number of skeptics, seven of the top Hip-Life artists stepped down from Ghana to perform live at the Stratford Rex, London. This event became one of the most memorable events in the Ghanaian music calendar in the UK

hip life festival

The Hip Life Festival 2007, which also coincides with the Ghana at 50th Celebrations, promises to be the biggest Ghanaian music celebration this year and will feature live PAs from hip-life royalty such as Castro, V.I.P., Boli, Tic-Tac, A-Plus, as well as Kwabena Kwabena and a special guest artist (the hip-life Don Dada)! Repping for the ladies will be Abrewa Nana and Manye Mercy (formerly of Triple M fame). UK support will come from Sonny Bali, Candy Man, Sonny Achiba, Howls of Lords, Franky Boy and Roman Fathers. There will also be a comedy set from the funniest man in Ghana — the one and only, Agya Koo.

The event will be hosted by E.D.D.I.E and Dentaa from OBE and DJ’s on the night include Alordia & Skoobi (Hot 9000), Abrantee (Choice FM), DJ Makossa (Rainbow Radio), French Kiss, Big L (Oops/Manjaro) and DJ Amita (Rainbow Radio).  Clarke Pintoa and Daddy Fingers will be the M.C.’s on the night.

The musical fiesta will take place on Saturday 25 August 2007 and all roads will lead to The Coronet Theatre, 28 New Kent Road, Elephant & Castle, London, SE1 6TJ.

Doors open at 10pm and the jam continues until 6am.

Tickets are only £20 pounds and will include a free DVD (while stocks last)

As it is a mega triple celebration, expect a friendly, amped up audience, the best live music, side-splitting comedy, free giveaways, live cultural traditional performances and lots more.
