Jamie T - Panic Prevention Disco Tour |

You’ll have seen him listed in Tom Vek’s predictions for 2006 as Jamie supported him on his last tour. Very much a Billy Bragg figure transposed 20 years, singing solo and playing his bass guitar. With that punk ethos, his homemade Panic Prevention mixtapes that he handed out free at gigs, were like a plea to the youth to get some musical education. You get idea from the band listing as influences: The Clash, Paul Weller, Toots and The Maytals, Beastie Boys, etc; an angry young man with a soul and a party nature. He had one single out last year on 7” (‘So Lonely Was The Ballad’ / ‘Back In The Game’) which sounded like a one-man band production but there’s a new, one-sided 12” promo floating about now, ‘Turn To Monsters’. Not sure who/about the remix credit of Kids With Guns but this is more of a ‘band’ style whilst keeping the punk, street, reggae influences (with strings!). It’s a dangerous tale of youth ‘monsters’, especially what they can do with CD collections. He’s just announced a June/July Panic Prevention Disco Tour, “And this time I am bringing my band with me” (see dates below). He’ll be picking the support acts himself and there’s a brand new Panic Prevention mixtape to get your hands on. Don’t forget to ask him for one, he’ll be happy to assist.
