Land Of Kings, Dalston - 16/17th April |
|||||||
|
Featuring theatres, basement bars, clubs, cafés, warehouses and traditional pubs the Land of Kings will mix-up locations and favourite artists like an East End ‘Camden Crawl’. Meanwhile, live offerings come from gothic post-rockers An Experiment on A Bird in The Air Pump, pound shop popster Sportsday Megaphone, rising grime star Iain Woods and The Psychologist and Tom Neville’s newest roman-to-disco imagining, colouringIN. As well as bands and DJs, daughter company of the lauded Punchdrunk collective, Gideon Reeling, will be taking over a Victorian hall treating those lucky enough to find them to song and dance. Whilst Community theatre company Stoke Newington International Airport will perform a festival exclusive rework of their sell out show, The Christmas Bullet. No Dalston jaunt would be complete without taking in the area’s ocakbasi and mangals, some of which will be offering festival specials to those with wristbands; fine fare fit for a King. Land Of The Kings is about some of the people and places that make this part of London so special. It doesn’t claim to be exhaustive; there’s just too much going on for that. People have been going out in this area for years (and years), so for some it’s a celebration of what they know, for others maybe about discovering something new. Venues Line-up (may be subject to change without notice) FRIDAY Links: |
