Larmer Tree Festival - Wiltshire, 11 - 15 July '07 |

Situated in lovely grounds not far from Stonehenge, Larmer Tree is the proud owner of an award for best festival toilets (rumours abound of how this may have been an error in ordering portaloos last year) and an enviable reputation for booking the best bands off the beaten track. We endorse their policy that no one should have to put up with Coldplay droaning on but instead they can go mental to Los De Abajo, dance their sandals off to Dreadzone, groove out to Courtney Pine and smoke some big reefer to Trojan Sound System (just joking, it is still illegal and very naughty to boot). As the blurb says, “Escape from it all for 5 days in an enchanted garden… over 70 bands, 100 workshops, street theatre and much more!” BOOKED SO FAR…Wednesday 11th July Artists whose performance day maybe subject to change are marked with a * Already many of the days have sold out. There were at the time of writing tickets available for Wednesday and Thursday nights. So move fast or miss out. |

Press Release:
PROGRAMME COMPLETE FOR THIS YEAR’S LARMER TREE FESTIVAL!
LARMER TREE FESTIVAL 2007 Wednesday 11th - Sunday 15th July
The programme is now complete for this year’s Larmer Tree, from Wednesday 11th to Sunday 15th July, with more than 80 bands booked to play the Festival’s five stages, plus street theatre, workshops and much more.
The music programme is more diverse and dazzling than ever, with big name acts sitting comfortably beside up-and-coming bands that have a habit of going on to great things! Highlights are many including a particularly strong line-up for this year’s Thursday night featuring Courtney Pine, Billy Bragg, Balkan Beat Box, 12 Stone Toddler as well as the last minute acquisition of Latin-funksters Ozomatli who put on a not-to-missed live show.
Other headliners throughout the weekend include Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra with Lulu and Ruby Turner plus Show of Hands on Wednesday and the Easy Star All-Stars, Baka Beyond and Seasick Steve on Sunday, plus many more acts. Just a handful of much sought after tickets remain for these days, but Festival-goers need to act fast if they don’t want to miss out.
As well as an impressive music programme, Larmer Tree is famed for its workshops; from dance and didgeridoo to singing and the Laughter Gym, there are over 100 for adults and children to chose from. And to make you giggle throughout the Festival, this year there is more street theatre than ever.
Seminal film director Ken Russell will also be talking to film critic Mark Kermode about Music and Movies. A local, and seasoned fan of the location, Ken has used the stunning Larmer Tree Gardens in a number of his projects over the years.
All this plus food and drink from around the world, award-winning toilets, free camping and hot showers!
