Latin Flow - London, 4 May 2005

Latin Flow launches at Cargo. A night dedicated in bringing you the best of Latin hip hop, reggeaton, R&B, bashment, old skool salsa and Latin beats

UK-Venezuelan Hiphop crew Latin Clan create a unique mix of hip hop, reggae and R&B and have showcased on London's hottest stages, including Koko, the Jazz Cafe, the Latin Splash After party 2004 at Infernos. Latin Clan recently wowed their audience with their impressive performance at the Royal Festival Hall, where they supported world famous Cuban Hiphop crew Orishas on April 8th, officially establishing themselves as Britain's foremost Latin hiphop and Reggaeton crew.

Stylo Prohibido are the pioneers of Cuban Hip hop in London. Their funky, heavy beats, fused with violin and flutes, and charismatic delivery oozes raw Havana flavour

Resident DJs will be Changuei, Kevin Souza and Julian M, the pioneers of London's Reggaeton and Latin Hip-hop scene. they will be also launching the brand new website www.reggaeton.co.uk, the first UK based online magazine dedicated to Urban Latin Music.

The launch event will be in memory of the Colombian community leader, Luis Eduardo Guerra, and seven other members of the San Jose Peace community (including four children, who were murdered on February 19, allegedly by members of the 11th and 17th Brigades of the Colombian Army. We will be urging London's conscious clubbers to participate in Amnesty's urgent action campaign to ensure the safety of the community. Go to www.amnesty.org.uk for details

The night is supported by BULB, Britain's freshest global issues magazine, delivering unspoken truths about issues from from trade justice and human rights to the environment and corporate greed -- all from a youth perspective -- along side the latest in music, fashion, gossip and sport from the global underground.

BULB is available at Borders, HMV (from April),selected retail outlets, and through subscriptions www.bulbmag.com

To top the night off, from 6-8pm Random House will be launching Ripped And Torn: Levi's, Latin America and the Blue Jean Dream by Amaranta Wright, a searing exposÈ of the effects of multinational companies' branding strategies on young people and a revealing portrait of the complexities of Latin American youth culture from a major new voice in radical writing.
