Hi,
I got to know about the coming Africa Misic Festival very late. Can you send me an accreditation letter confirming me as a journalist coming from Nigeria to cover the festival?
I’m an ENTERTAINMENT REPORTER with the oldest surviving privately owned newspaper in Nigeria- THE NIGERIAN TRIBUNE NEWSPAPER.
I’ve just been assigned by my EDITOR to cover the festival for publication in our medium.
I have covered similar festivals in the past. I was at the 11th International Film festival of Kerala in
India in December last year and only returned from the
Rotterdam Film Festival in Holland.
I’d be glad if you can reply me early so as to arrange
for my visa and other travelling documents.
Thanks for the anticipated prompt response.
Yours,

Dear festival organizers,

The Congolese community in the UK wish to inform you that due to the shameful political situation in the DRC,it has been decided that no Congolese artist can perform in the UK. Koffi Olomide is aware of the situation as all other Congolese artists do. We kindly request that you reconsider having Koffi Olomide as your guest artist on the 26/05/07. It is a matter of African and Congolese pride. Please don’t risk your money on such a venture. Congolese nationals are more than determined. Remember what happened to their minister in October 2006. He was beaten and stripped naked at OBE TV studio.

Please consider this free advice from African brothers. Koffi knows what happened to him at Miss Africa concert in London.

Kind considerations

Dear Brothers,

I am sorry but I need to tell you that it is time for respect our fellow who died. The Congo is now experiencing a genocide and we dicided as people of congo that they will be no concert for our musicians in Britain and in europe in general. So, we wiould like you to to avoid the catastrophy because the time for stopping slavery and conolonisation has come. We want our people of Africa and Congo in particular to wake up. SO please, Cancel the concert of Kofi Olomide.
Thank you for your understanding.

Dear African Brothers and Sisters,

I would like to let you know that putting Koffi Olomide in your list of production, compromissed all we know about panafricanism.

Koffi Olomide is aware that the Congolese community in UK has banned all the concerts untill our is freed from American and French occupation using Uganda, Rwanda, Angola, South Africa, Zimbabwe, etc… as a means of destroying our Beloved Congo.

Please once again, I am asking to you to think again.

We, Congolese, are being called BMW (B: Beer, M: Music and W: Women). We want that to stop.

If you are really Africans and are keen on stoping to slavary of Congolese, take Koffi off your list.

If not…. Then we should stop calling each other Brothers and Sisters.

For Koffi Olomide: Mopao, na ndenge ya bien, suta plan. bana maman ba na rond point. Boyebi musala na bango. “Koyeba musala esalaka elengi moko boye.”
Mukulu kulu, na esprit ya bien suta plan. Mutakalisation eza faux plan…..

Dear Producer,

I know that money is sweet and Koffi’s performance can help you get some more. But will it be worth the confusion it will drain before or after? Please…please…please…please…please…please…please
Please…please…please…please…please…please…please
Please…please…please…please…please…please…
LET US CONGOLESE SORT OUT OUR MESS BETWEEN US AND KEEP AWAY FROM KOFFI THE TREATOR.

DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS

I’m an artist/dj/musician from South Africa living in the U.K and I believe KOFFI should perform in london, why? just like Mariam Makeba, Hugh Masekela during apartheid in South Africa artist were our ambassadors for freedom, there will be no peace or change if nobody knows what is going on. Let Mr OLOMIDE perform, let him be VOICE of change and inform people what is going on in Congo, don’t kill art for politics, let art change politics…by voicing our disproval through music, we have protested through music…listen to song of freedom

Mr. Baró IS NOT performing at The London African Music Festival at the Coronet Theatre Sunday 27 May at 9PM with Africando. Ronald WAS NEVER invited to sing at this event and will be in his home town of NY City at this time. This letter is to address the issue of false advertising and the illegal use of Ronnie’s name in advertising this show. Ronald was made aware of this concert today May 25, 2007 at 1 pm New York Time.

Ronald is no longer performing with Africando. Ronald has not performed with Africando for almost 2 years. There are, at this time, no negotiations with Ibrahima Sylla for Ronald to return to sing with Africando

Ronald Baró expresses that he did not give Ibrahima Sylla permission to use his name to obtain this booking or advertise on the festival web site. Ronald requests that all the promoters and sponsors of this event must cease and desist using his name and exclude him from all remaining promotions of this event including radio, newspapers, and TV. Ronald assumes no responsibility for discontent of the audience caused by falsely including his name in the publicity of this event. Ronald will be pursuing legal recourse and will be pursuing all legal measures against this form of identity theft and ‘bait and switch’ advertising where Ibrahima Sylla is blatantly failing to deliver promised singer Ronald Baró.

Ronald states, “My apologies to all the fans who heard, I might be there and will be “let down” by this blatant form of false advertising,”

—Ronald Baro

Dear Producers,

Thank you for taking the concerns of Congolese seriously and not allowing Koffi Olomide to perform in London.
Thank you again.
I would like to inform you that this ban is still be in place as long as our Congo is occupied by the French, Belgians and Americans by using the African pupets as such Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Angola, etc…

OZONE

The definition of fusion music

Ozone is a fusion band based in New Delhi India, which contain pure classical music from Indian culture and just a fragrance of western music in it. We borrow our name as ozone means O (our) ZONE (any encircling or belt like structure).

Since the group was formed, in 2007, ozone has steadily grown to become one of the most respected acts on the Indian music scene. Our sound is a mélange of the styles, moods and textures we have taken in from different cultures and different music systems of the world. Ozone is inspired by the famous band called ‘SHAKTI’.

The music of this band is deeply inspired by the famous band of living legends ‘SHAKTI ‘. In our own way, we attempt to dissolve into the world we perceive, and discover music that resonates around us.

Many great musicians, especially in the Indian Classical arena, speak of the pursuit of that incredible moment during performance when the musician becomes the music and forgets his own identity. .

In our composition you will find the mixture of ragas (from Indian classical traditional music) with combination of western music together.

Ozone played in many prestigious festivals in India as well in abroad like in karia music festival (Japan), Namastey India festival Tokyo (Japan). Etc

MEMBERS ARE :-

1. AZEEM AHMED (SITAR)

2. DANISH ALI (VIOLON)

3. FAREED HASAN ( VOCALS)

4. TRIDIB CHOUDRY (GUITAR)

5. SOURABH (BASS GUITAR)

6. ABHISHEK PANDIT (KEY BOARD AND EFFECTS)

7. HAFEEZ AHMED ( TABLA)

8. MOHIT (DRUMS)

9. MOHD AMJAD KHAN ( PERCUSSIONS)

GUEST APPEARANCES ARE:- in only some compositions

Many great musicians, especially in the Indian Classical arena, speak of the pursuit of that incredible moment during performance when the musician becomes the music and forgets his own identity. .
