Forever is their first album in five years. What was a once a nine strong ‘supergroup’ of avant-garde musicians and performers, the current line up is now a compact trio that concentrate on the musical side of things. By coincidence, it was 5 years ago when they first met Rainer Weichhold of Great Stuff Recordings when he was doing their German PR.

Rainer now manages the band that now features original members Biggi Veira and President Bongo and new recruit, Earth (aka Urður Hákonardóttir) whose diva vocals are anything but earthy.

The stand out track is the single, ‘Moss’ which also features former member Daníel Ágúst but the other poppier vocal tracks are equally accessible, like ‘You’ll Never Change’ and the next single, ‘Hold On’. The ‘Hold On’ remixes are provided by Berlin’s Namito & Diringer of Kling Klong records (keepin’ it in the family so to speak) and to repay the favor for Gusgus remixing ‘Mopedgang’, Moonbootica provide a deep n’ dirty synth bounce that’s ideal dance floor booty.

Watch for the Namito & Diringer mix as it goes all synthy ska but definitely get the album as it’s full of dancefloor friendly synth instrumentals like the title track, ‘Degeneration’, ‘Lust’, ‘Porn’ and ‘Demo 54’.

Forever is set to get the fans flocking to see GusgGus live as I’d say it was their best album to date.
