A leading disciple of the flute maestro, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia (India) since he was nine years old, Rupak Kulkarni has already drawn attention to his art and instrument (the Indian bamboo flute also known as the bansuri) with his innovative improvisations, mesmeric laykari, superb breath control and dexterous finger work. Born in Mauritius, Subhash Dhunoohchand belongs to the famous Ajrara Gharana and is the disciple of Pandit Sudhir Kumar Saxena from Baroda (India). His virtuosity and layakari have given his tabla rhythms a unique character, and he elevates his instrument to another level of expression and appreciation. |
