The Big Chill 2007, Eastnor Park (3 - 5 August) and Goa (14 and 15 April)

Plans for The Big Chill festival 2007 are well underway and Fly can give you a sneak preview of the first line-up for the chillfest in the beautiful surroundings of Herefordshire’s Eastnor Park.

The crowd at The Big Chill 2006

Following a pretty much perfect weekend of sun, tunes and camping last year, this year sees the twelfth Big Chill on 3 - 5 August and a line-up including Kruder and Dorfmeister, global beats from The Skatalites, Angola’s Konono No1 (which looks to be a festival highlight) flamenco hip hop from Ojos de Brujo and soaring vocals from Sheila Chandra are definitely not to be missed.

Music for the post-club generation, The Big Chill sets out three outdoor stages and more of the tented variety, as well as the chance to get hippy mystical in the healing tents, films, art trails and comedy. And even better, the festival’s founders are stepping up their green campaign by roping in various environmental organisations for this year’s festival.

The Big Chill takes place in Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Great Malvern, between 3 and 5 August. Tickets are £125 for adults and £60 for children (13 - 16 years old). Under 13s go free. Watch this space for more festival info.

If you can’t wait that long though, and for an altogether warmer option you might fancy heading out to India on 14 and 15 April for The Big Chill Goa. The line-up includes Coldcut, The Bays and Norman Jay and the festival is placed out of the main tourist strip to the more remote beaches north of Goa, so expect the remoteness of Eastnor, only with a beach. And a warm sea. And coconut trees.

Weekend tickets for The Big Chill Goa are 3,000 Indian Rupees (approx
£35).
