Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. We we’re first aware of the talent who calls himself 2562 (aka Dave Huismans) for his remix of the Pattie Blingh (aka Georgia Anne Muldrow) track on the Rinse:08 compilation by Alexander Nut. But 2562 isn’t just the latest dubtep guru to shove his head above the parapets, this guy flirts with all bass heavy beats from 2-step to techno to dubstep with a nod to bit of garage al a The Roots Of El-B (see the appropriately entitled ‘Flashback’) whilst sometimes slipping into the minimal-techno of, say, Emptyset (see Emptyset) or the dub of Opitkatechniqua Sinister Dub or some broken beat (yep, it’s official OK to reference broken beat again). To give you some idea, recommend you listen to his Fact Mix (click HERE) but you’d just as well get the album as this guy is the latest Martyn or Burial or even Point B. ‘Flashback’, ‘Unbalanced’ and ‘Yes/No’ stand out but it’s all good like ‘Who Are You Fooling?’, ‘Love In Outer Space’ and percussive madness of ‘Narita’. WeFearSilence hosted the album launch party at the start of the month and then he’s off on turn to Japan, this guy is going places in more ways than one. Reviewed: 2562 - Unbalance (Tectonic) Cat.
