Alex Gopher - Alex Gopher

Most music fans will associate Alex Gopher with house music. At least that’s what I did until I heard his new self-titled album

Alex Gopher

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site.

But there’s hardly an ounce of ‘filtered French house’ to be found on the latest offering from the man who has in the past collaborated with international stars such as Jamiroquai, Bob Sinclar, Vanessa Paradis and Sly & Robbie.

What we do have is an eclectic mix of punk-inspired ditties, a couple of acoustic jams, romper stomper electro pop and of course the obligatory filtered funk frenzy to hark back to his earlier works.

The diverse combination of styles is sure to go down well with the live crowds when his tour hits the UK in October 2007.

Alex Gopher (the album) is fun to listen to and its more upbeat numbers had me tapping my feet and shuffling my upper torso in a bizarre fashion while ready to go out this weekend — I’d thoroughly recommend it!

1. Out of the Inside
2. Brain Leech
3. Nasty Wish
4. Isn’t it nice
5. Boulder Colorado
6. Carmilla
7. The Game
8. Song For Paul
9. 5000 Moons
10. Go!
12. The White Lane
13. Brain Leech alternate version
