We have already heard the first versions of ‘Coulibaly’ (featuring Ashley Beedle and The Fred Chichin). Beedle’s is still the one I’d play out and we still love the original version but you can’t have too much of a good thing.

Kano had a great album out this year (Home Sweet Home) and he’s got a cameo rap spot on Mikey J’s remix. In comparison to the original, this is downtempo for its Masai warrior chant. The Akon remix, is equally different with more of a funk/R&B flavour. It’s good that these two remixes bring something new to this great track.

The Roundhouse gig will see support from Ba Cissoko, K’Naan (Somalian hip hop) with DJ Rob da Bank (Bestival/Sunday Best/Radio 1). Be warned the lager is pricey at this venue but it’s a good sound and the atmosphere should be electric. Go Masai, go Masai.
