A-Skillz - Happiness / Got The Rhythm

A. Skillz’ timing is spot on with this money can’t buy you happiness timing in these credit crunchin’ days with this party shakin’ monster.

FLR094.jpg

After the rave reviews of at Bristol (via the Kiwi contingent at the Black Seeds this week, A.Skillz (aka Adam Mills) and his long time musical partner Krafty Kuts, turn up with some Mr. Scruff-styled bouncey Charlestonesque ‘Happiness’ for the dancefloor.

Guaranteed hit, but what’s this on the b-side? Beatbox extraordinaire BeardyMan takes on James Brown, the JBs, MC Hammer and more and wins with only his incredible gob; you could actually believe he is James Brown! ‘Got The Rhythm’ might be old skool but its brilliant; and to impress you even more there’s a beats bonus.

Expect more of the same at Soundcrash at Cargo tomorrow (8th November) with Beardyman, Mr. Thing, Infinite Livez, Pest and Joe Driscoll (see review of Joe’s debut album HERE).

A.Skillz and BeardyMan will put a smile on your face (“can I get an adlib?”) and money can’t buy you this type of happiness. Pure funky pleasure!

Pulling out all the stops for New Year’s Eve with an extended licence until 5am, The Westbury has a Hot Chip DJ set where front man Alexis Taylor will be dropping tunes covering everything from disco right through to dubstep. He’ll also be joined by A. Skillz and DJ Khalil.

Joining Alexis on the decks is party starter extra-ordinaire - DJ A Skillz. A hit at clubs and festivals around the globe, A Skillz plays the kind of music that you can’t stand still to, be it low slung funk, bouncing hip hop, classic breaks or booty shaking electro. Seriously adept at rocking parties, his technical skill and fresh approach to DJing has won him fans the world over. With productions under his belt alongside Krafty Kuts and the Beatvandals (aka Utah Saints), as well as remixes of artists such as The Beatles, Queen, Kraak & Smaak and more, it’s only a matter of time before this young producer is catapulted further into the limelight. http://www.mypace.com/djaskillz

DJ Khalil has been rocking many a fine party with his eclectic selection of tunes, whether spinning hip hop and funk or Bmore and electro mashups he’ll get your feet moving! Which, over the last year, has lead to sets at Together (Turnmills), Ministry of Sound, The End, East Village and 93 feet east to name a few, so expect a proper NYE throwdown from this firm Westbury favourite. http://www.myspace.com/djkhalil

The Westbury - with its beautiful building and stylish decor - has put this area of North West London firmly on the map!
