Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Taken from their self-titled album Aufgang and coming on the back of a European Tour, ‘Barock’ is a fantasitc piece of classic-minimal techno. On the remix is original Detroit experimentalist, Robert Hood who keeps it stripped and simple, Mondkopf (aka Paul Régimbeau) takes it something more akin to a death march in Vienna (where’s Midge Ure?) and dOP’s mates Wareika (aka Florian Schirmacher, Henrik Raabe and Jakob Seidensticker and as featured in today’s review of Watergate 06) round things off with an extended ambience induced dream. I’ve got to get the album Aufung that came out last year on one off the most experimental (and consistently good) dance/house labels, InFiné - all recommended.
