Babel - Babel

The Bristol area is more associated with trip hop and drum ‘n’ bass than indie folk but People Tree have found the power of Babel irresistible with this new mini-album

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site.

You may recall from last year that People Tree have a strong track record to-date with discoveries like Grand Union last year.

Babel haven’t got that jazz edge that Grand Union have as their style of folk crosses over into indie rock, rockabilly and at times, the mournful elements of Radiohead. This mini-album is made up of their first independently released EPs. The opening track is the ear-catcher and comes with a rather arty video.

A five piece band led by singer Daniel Coughlan (and acoustic guitar), Ben Bird (bass), Daisy Palmer (drums), Martin Lanchester (violin and accordian) and Rick Brown (guitar) are getting ready of go on tour with Mojo Favourite and Mercury Prize nominee Fionn Regan from next week so that’ll be a good opportunity to spread the word.
