Bonobo - Days to Come

Beats driven but firmly anchored in live sounds, Bonobo’s Days to Come is an album you will want to come back to over and over again.

Bonobo - Days to Come

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site.

It opens with mellow flutes and then the signature Bonobo beats kick in, with Bajka’s hypnotic vocals taking over for the first two tracks, the title track, and ‘Between the Lines’ and from there you’re drawn, totally until the closing beats of ‘Recurring’, as strong a closing track as many a top notch album open with.

‘If You Stayed Over’ features fellow Ninja Tunes artist Fink (flavour of the month) on vocals, a voice that stays with you long after the track has finished. Of the instrumentals ‘Transmissions parts 1 and 2’ rolls on and on, pulsing and drifting through a soundscape which takes in orchestral, jazz and luscious beats that suffuse not only this but all the tracks.

Bonobo’s third album, due for release on 2 October, will be a hit with any Ninja Tunes afficianado It’s got a great feel especially in the live drum sounds, slightly dirty bass and snares, bongos, brass and strings.

There’s a hypnotic dreamlike vibe to the album as a whole, in the depth of the instrumentation, really playing on live sounds and building a deep, full impression that will have Days to Come on loop for me and I suspect many many others for a fair while.
