Chapel Club - O Maybe I |

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. The Chapel Club are Lewis Bowman (vocals), Michael Hibbert (guitar), Liam Arklie (bass), Alex Parry (guitar) and Rich Mitchell (drums) and ‘O Maybe I’ follows in the same mode as their pop noir debut ‘Surfacing’. Their assault of Dalston’s nite life last year created buzz talk of the band as “the next [insert names like Joy Division, The Smiths etc]” and the wagging tongues lead to packed venues. ‘O Maybe I’ is proof that it wasn’t idle chatter or over hype as it’s as much about Chapel Club as it is about their influences. Just another tune about miserable love life angst but its proof that gangly guitar music is still alive and well when backed up by a bit of MBV and booming basslines and drums. Not only that, it’s good to see that this is not only out on CD but there’s a limited 7” edition (see website links below for further details).
