Cookin' on 3 Burners - This Girl feat. Kylie Auldist

We know about Cookin’ on 3 Burners but who’s this girl called Kylie Auldist?

FSR7057.jpg

You could say Cookin On 3 Burners’ last album, Baked, Boiled & Fried (see review HERE) is still hot; and it’s not because these guys come from Australia!

Whit their own authentic soul, jass, funk and boogaloo, the trio of Lance Ferguson (guitar), Ivan Khatchoyan (drums) and Jake Mason (organ) are back with a new single from the forthcoming new album Soul Messin and features Kylie ‘Settle The Score’ Auldist who’s the ‘Alice Russell of Oz’.

‘This Girl’ could see them take on the nu-60s soul divas Amy, Duffy, Stone et al with this mid-tempo radio fiendly big horn track that’s very Ronson-esque. Potential summer hit anthem for Summer 2009.

Kylie is best known as the singer in The Bamboos and she’s got her debut solo coming out on Tru-Thoughts in August called Made Of Stone (review coming soon) and there’s a European tour in September 2009.

Meanwhile back on the b-side, there’s a typical instrumental killer ‘Four ‘N Twenty’ that’s straight from the chicken shack. Summer of ‘09, the summer of ozzie love?

And here’s a heads-up for a double ablum on Freestyle called Freestyle Remixed with a bonus mix CD by DJ Shepdog of “classics past, present and future so keep it Freestyle.
