Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Hot on the heals of their Tia Anita EP, Metroline weren’t slow to snap Dani Casarano and Felipe Valenzuela up for the four track Never Dies EP and I’m pleased to report it’s just as good! These boys from Chile like their percussion fast and furious and a little bit dubby and ‘Never Dies’ is all of that; watch out though, it ‘dies’ very quickly at the end. And that’s followed by ‘Between Hours’ which is like a faster ‘Never Dies’ in a manic fair ground with a bass to blow you’re brains out; “ohhhhh-ohhh-a-ohhhh” as they say. One of Drumpoet Community’s favourite remixers, Nekes comes to the plate in a suitably cristal clear relentless percussion crazy track with synthy cosmic winds; I do like the those maracas! The EP closes with a ‘Levantate’ with extra percussion provided by Jose Elias. It’s a bit more glitchy and experimental before getting into a thunderous run-away train groove in an aqua park; best of a very good bunch. If you’re into Francisco Allendes and Felipe Venegas ‘Espiritu’, you’ll want this. And if you ask me, Dani and Felipe can do no wrong at the moment so I expect them to be high up in the end of year awards lists; and it’s only May!
