This is so leftfield I’m still not sure it’s FLY as ‘Puzzle’ itself is fairly Artrocker, girl vocal and guitar band track. Like Pack A.D. meets Lydia Lunch at the rougher end of current darlings, the much improved Thomas Tantrum.

What the blood hell is ‘Tape Project #1’ all about? I don’t think I’ll ever know but you can be rest assured that John Peel would think it was brilliant. And you can’t get more relevant at this time of year that a 6 minutes of Rogues Gallery experimental, folk, indie rock, freestyle, disjointed psychedelic non-sense.

As a side note, regular readers expecting the ‘Best Ever’ John Peel Day mixtape as previously promised (see 2007), I’m afraid it’s been put back a year for various and too complicated logistic reasons not unlike Peel at his uncoordinated best. Next year for sure and expect some Das Wanderlust on it.

A former ‘band of the day’ (only in The Guardian) and loads of gigs listied on Das Wanderlust’s myspace site so don’t miss them when they hit your town.
