Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. So sings Navasha Daya (she of Fertile Ground). And whilst it’s very disco cliché, we’re getting into the funk quite nicely after the recent return of Amp Fiddler and the Peng Peng album by Voom:Voom. This is particularly true of the original mix of ‘Move’ as David’s also got Roger Troutman fever. But warning! It ends very quickly before the ‘Bruk cells’ mix takes over in a broken nu-jazz bugz a comin’ shake up. So who is David Borsu? He’s a DJ and producer based in Liège, Belgium the name is familiar (not only because ‘Move’ is turning up all over the place in DJ charts) as ‘Nocturne’ featured on Nick Matthew’s A Slice Of Paradise and he did a remix of ‘Rhodesmode’ by Perry Hemus (Woodland Records). However, if you need a remixer who’s got funk in buckets, that’ll be Mark de Clive-Lowe. The guy is so prolific it makes you wonder how he keeps up with himself. I think the instrumental version is the better of the two on the b-side as you get the full fuzzed-out guitar solo at the end. Mr. Borsu’s album Insight is just out and there was a release party in Liège last week with Jake Behnan, D’Stephanie and Beyondjazz DJs. He’s got some interesting looking gigs lined up (as below) so one to look out for. David Borsu - Move (Counterpoint) Cat.
