Deadmus5 is a big as you can get in the clubs and festivals these days, whether in a big bounce wobble house mix of the type Toddla T FabricLive or the collaboration with Billy Newton-Davis (‘All You Ever Want’) and his previous partnership with Mellefresh on At Play album with the tracks ‘Cocktail Queen’, ‘Afterhours’ and ‘Hey Baby’.

Needless to say, this new release is nothing like Deadmau5 at home (see below his ‘surprise’ DMC picks) as this summer hot hit finally gets released. Melleefresh is just what this electro-house banger needs as she flirts the vocals, “I’m the one you’re looking for, ‘cos I’m a big attention whore”. You just can’t help but move as Deadmau5 does it again.

As Play Records are so dance floor focused, there’s a massive eight official remixes; but for the single, it’s restricted to a mere three including the team of prog-house producers/DJs from Ottawa, Zoltan Kontes And Jerome Robins. This year, they’ve already had remixes released on famous old label such as Nervous Records and Perfecto but I’m prefering the remix by a new name to me, DJ Zya.

Even if Melleefresh (aka Melleny Melody) has fallen out with Deadmau5 (aka Joel Thomas Zimmerman) until he teams up with Princess Superstar, ‘Attention Whore’ is as good as you’re going to get of this type of dance bitch thing.

1.Autchre - Uviol: It’s a really cool glitchy track to chill out to, its good thinking music, not too intrusive or in your face.
2. Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails: Still among the first bit of ‘electronic music’ that I have ever really taken a liking too.
3. The theme tune to ‘The Price is Right’! It’s a totally great piece of music - genius! Haha
4. Mars Wind- Sex (Yeah!): Cool chiptune, goes through so many Commodor 64 sounds! I do enjoy listening to the occasional chiptune.
5. Boards of Canada - Happy Cycling: A dark track, it’s a sort of bi-polar track - its in a minor key but has an uplifting feel - with a nice rolling drum beat.
6. Squarepusher - Tommib: This is from the album ‘Ultravisitor’ - It has lots of live elements but still retains a glitch sound.
7. Aphex Twin - Window Licker: A classic tune. Enough said.
8. Yacht - ‘Mega’ - (album): The whole album!!! It’s up there in my top 10 best ever albums. ‘Mega’ is really creative, it has cool little tracks, you listen to them and you know its home grown, its not over-produced in any way.
9. Nine Inch Nails - Beside You in Time: This is from their latest album - it’s a really driving track, melodic and washy - not too heavy - it has steady ass machine feel to it. Its amazing because it has key compression but you don’t hear the key just the compression and you don’t usually hear that in track.
10. Spor - Molehill: By far THE best drum n bass track I have ever heard - such a pounder of a track.
