You’ll remember Deekline (aka Nick Annand) burst onto the scene with ‘I Don’t Smoke The Reefa’ but in 2000. Since then he’s gone onto work with Ed Solo (as on the Ursula 1000 compilation Undressed..Remixed and the cover of the Ronnie Laws jazz-funk classic, ‘Always There’) and with Wizard (aka Greg Fleming) releases on Botchit & Scarper and Rat Records.

This new single follows on from their Against The Grain debut 12”, the international car cash race of ‘Dancehall Thrilla’. That one featured the vocal talents of Yolanda and she takes the lead on ‘Angels’ that ups the anti somewhat.

‘Angels’ is more of a ‘Always There’ jazz-funk, soul track that’s a real winner for radio plays. There’s an incredible disco-broken remix package from ‘back in the day’ stalwart of Talkin’ Loud Records, MJ Cole and comparatively fresh upstart DJ Bomba on the house duties.

This is a really good song and whilst there are mixes to more your feet, you get the impression that this is a turning point in their careers. Before ‘Angels’ drops next week, the pair are going coast to coast in the states, ready for a dash around Europe before the full album release of Back Off, Coming Through! next February.

It’s promised that they’ve taken advantage of their worldwide DJing travels to record orchestras, drums and the ideal vocalist to come up with their unique combinations of sound; wow, wow, wow, baila, baila you might say or perhaps “I can’t wait”.
