Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Inevitably, if you do that type of thing, sooner or later the synths are going to turn up on the remix and Disco 3000 will get it on the decks. This is one for the Wychwood Festival late night tent as it’s a strange mutant of fiddles, Lynch type lyrics (vocals by Stef Kamil Carlens), big The Doors style keys and banging rock drums by ex-Soulwax member, Stéphane Misseghers. Check the Brendan ‘Lynch Mob’ Lynch’s website for more of his adventures in psychedelia like all those Indian Vibes ‘Mathar’ remixes that appeared throughout the 1990s with the sitars and Paul Weller? There’s not much more to the dub mix than taking out the vocals but that’s the way Sun Ra would have wanted it. I’d say it’s one for the rockin’ end of the psych-folk mixtape following on from The Eighteenth Day Of May? You’re going to be lucky to find the 10” but public demand on V2 should reap results. On the strength of this it might be worth going to see dEUS live. Their next gig, at the time of writing, is the Montreux Jazz Festival in the Miles Davis Hall (12th July). See their myspace site (links below) for further details of other gigs this summer. Reviewed: dEUS - Sun Ra (V2) Cat. No. none Release Date: Unknown Links |
