Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Dntel (aka Jimmy Tamborello, James Figurines) is neither dumb or lucky. Best known as half of The Postal Service, (a collaboration with Death Cab For Cuttie’s Ben Gibbard). If was Carlos Niño that first alerted us to his work and the remix track on ‘Dublab presents In The Loop #1’. Dntel’s taken five years to get this album of electronics dreams together with a variety of guest vocalists. Some are better known than others, Jenny Lewis, Rilo Kiley and Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) and Mia Doi Todd. In fact, the Mia track ‘Rock My Boat’ first turned up the Plug Research sampler, The Sound of L.A. Volume 1 but the indie-country mix is quite Wilco goes electronic. Profiled in One Week To Live this week, there’s an an update for The Other Side of Los Angeles as Dntel recommends Papas Burrito in Atwater Village but more importantly, he’s coming over as part of a Dublab European tour later this summer.
