If you’re not aware of Domu or Pete Simpson’s history, check out the review of the album from which this title track has been reworked (see Look A Little Further). Since then Domu sat-in for Benji B on his show and they’ve had the album launch party at Cargo with the full 8-piece band!

You may recall ‘Look A Little Further’ is the one with the big Isley Brothers’ style guitar riff so ideal material for DJ Spen and his ‘The Way You Love Me’ buddies, The MuthaFunaz to get their hands on it for a bit of disco housification.

DJ Spen (aka Sean Spencer) knows his history as he goes back to 10 years to the start of ‘underground’ house and Black Vinyl Records who released quality records by the likes of Miguel Migs, Kerri Chandler and Sweden’s Rasmus Faber (who DJ’d at the album launch).

You’ll recall, this track was inspired by a speech by Martin Luther King and it’s a big dancer (compare with ‘Time’ on Foresight: Urban. There’s not much in it between the two vocal remixes and you get the instrumental version for good measure.

The first single, ‘I Won’t Give Up’ was equally good and the album definitely recommended.

Domu presents Pete Simpson is the brand spanking new project from East London’s soulful underground label Papa Records, and on Friday 23rd March they’ll be debuting their new live set up at Cargo, performing songs from their forthcoming album ‘Look A Little Further’ with a full 8-piece band.
