Don Cash - '2k7' |

|
We’re still rockin’ in this office to the first EP, Disco Wreck. ‘2k7’ rather checkily is more about old-skool electro synth bass lines of the 1k87 era; which is as relevant today as it ever was (watch out for the delayed Kings Of Electro compilation that’s coming out next month). Freeze and get on this one. In the interview in the latest edition of Electronic Beats, Cash bigs up his boss Headman as he says that he’s not that bothered about trying to produce tracks for the dance floor as Headman’s got all the contacts for a remix if that’s what’s required (that, of course, including Headman himself). Time to phone up Zongamin (aka Susumu Mukai), who is probably best known for the remix he did of Seelenluft’s ‘Manila’ that came out originally on Klein Records. Dancefloor friendly of course and funky with it. Just the right type of excitement before a new remix of ‘Disco Wreck’. Kitsuné Music favourites Punks Jump Up rock the disco pogo with their bass bounce. You don’t have to be a fan of Klaxons or Hadouken! to get excited about this. Don is currently on his first trip to LA so the album, currently known as II, is not coming out untill next year. I for one can’t wait. Hectic Mix nominations: ALL 3 for this one!
