He says, this EP contains “2 live drums and cut’n’paste style b-boy tracks, one slice of vocal soul and a splash of Balearica”. The A side is the “2 live drums” with suitable rubbery bass and synth whilst ‘Come Back Breaker’ isn’t a tribute to CB radio, but more of a drum lesson with the help of some ‘party atmosphere’ sample.

But the track to check is the downtempo soul of ‘Part Of Me’ with the vocals of Sietske (aka Sietske Heun). How did he find her? Our man as a bit of track record of finding vocalists (see My Life At 33 and he’s gone and done it again.

If I had a criticism of Plastic Starfish it would be that Mr. Klein could do with some vocal collaborations.

The good Dr. isn’t finished yet thou’ as he goes and knocks you out with the closing track, ‘Sunset Breakup’. What a mix of downtempo acoustic guitar and jazzy vibes that perfectly captures a sunset in sound.

Craig Charles and Tom Robinson on BBC’s 6 Music are supporting this one early on but there’s going to be more than just these guys. The link up with Jalapeno Records, with their links with and Fort Know Five and their roster of Ikon, Skeewiff and Dutch duo Kraak & Smaak, looks like a great combination with some healthy synergies, just let the Dr. give out his musical prescriptions.
