Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Co-produced by the band and Steve Osborne (who happens to have a track record of hits dating back nearly twenty years now with Oakenfold/Perfecto, U2, Happy Mondays, New Order and many more; so he knows a thing or two about this game) and whilst the lead track is quite a catchy indie-pop-reggae twinged single, it’s the remixes that’ll get you on the dance floor and sirens whirling. The lyrics are all about the ‘missing out’ on cash (being skint to you and me) as delivered by Nik Walker and supported by the Bath based duo Martin Badder (drums), David Power, (keys) along with Damian Simes (guitar) and MC Erl Grey. The house ‘hands in the air’ mix is supplied by Badda in a wildly Pete Tong retro way with lots of echo but the one with the buzz is the synth bassout from Slugabed (who’s already featured on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC Radio 1’s Experimental Show). Definitely not a one-trick pony this guy and watch out for his remix of La Roux’s ‘In For The Kill’ (as an aside, La Roux or Little Boots?) So refreshing to have a band that isn’t led by a girl these days (never thought I say such a thing) but get the 12” and I’m told there’s a Badda ambient house download mix for those quieter moments; don’t miss out.
