Elektrons - Red Light Don't Stop

The Unabombers of legendary Manchester club night Electric Chair are not ones to sit on their asses waiting to get burnt. Their debut album as the Elektrons is out now as they give something back to the club scene from which they emerged

The opening track is the former single, ‘Get Up’ which received mixed reactions but it sounds at home on this album as the sum is perhaps greater than the parts.

The Umabombers, aka Justin Crawford and Luke Cowdrey have used their combined 30 year’s of knowledge of underground dance culture to put together this eclectic set. The Electric Chair has been going for 15 years and is always voted highly in Gilles Peterson’s end-of-year all-winners poll.

Similar to what fellow Northern DJs come producers, The Nextmen did on their album This Was Supposed To Be The Future they’ve used their contacts both sides of the pond to secure vocal contributions from the likes of Pete Simpson (look out for his album with Domu coming soon), Eska, Mpho Skeef and Soup (of Jurassic 5).
