Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. I still think Fenech Soler sounds like firm of Solicitors but they’ve moved on since their debut single, ‘The Cult Of Romance’ but their “post-millennial dancefloor pop” is still in the synth pop electro-dance that’s an ideal warm up for the Lovebox experts, GA. With another typically catchy pop hook (as if from Paris), expect more plays by fans such as Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Pete Tong, Kissy Sell Out and Annie Mac plus XFM’s “remix king and dance rocker”, Eddy Temple-Morris; think of Bloc Party having a good time (if you can). And the b-side, ‘LA Love’ is even more party with their Duran-Human League influences coming out. The 12” vinyl version is out on 26th October and will be sort after for the electro funk remixes by Alex Metric (last seen on Y4K → The 20th with euro rave credentials that would keep any budding Friday night Pete Tong happy (watch out for the launch of DJ Hero this month also which is going to be top my shopping, birthday, Christmas list) and the set is rounded off with a new remixer to us, Tom Staar who provides equally impressive “Bleepy, Noisy, choppy Goodness” (thanks Alex). The change of label to Moda Music can only help as it’s an offshoot of the Moda party bandwagon that in the last 3 years has have progressed from a club night in Lincoln to a residency in Ibiza and has brought on DJs Jaymo and Andy George who now have thier own monthly show on Radio One (being a quarter of New DJs We Trust along with Metric, Toddla T and Phonica’s Heidi); they are hot property to say the least. Fenech Soler’s live shows coming up are equally tastey and there’s a couple of corkers with a spot at the Custard Factory with Groove Armada, Chase & Status and Hervé (and if you’re into twisted electro, check out the Count (aka Joshua ‘Hervé’ Harvey) and Sinden’s latest single on Domino, ‘Mega’) and with Orbital at the Battersea Power Station, WOW!
