So whilst the Radio Slave remix of ‘8 Bit Romance’ stole some headlines, lets not take anything away from Florian and the original version (check our HERE). And I know some folks don’t get minimal, but minimal is at it’s best, there’s a foundation in straight ahead basis roots music with layers of sutble variation going on; this is what you’ll find here on both the original and the Super Flu versions.

The original is a thumping double quick dreamscape surrounded by the nightlife of the Serengeti; with some industrial ping-pong space warp factor climaxing for good measure. This is how to wobble a bass-line; totally addictive.

And yet another label release to Florian’s growing collection, this time it’s Stephan Bodzin’s Herzblut set up. Stephan has been one of Florian’s biggest fans for a long time (see interview Tears Of A Dreamer) and it was an obvious match-up to get Super Flu to remix ‘Aorta’ as their ‘Zinnober’ release on Herzblutz in the summer has a similar feel to it. Luckily Super Flu are not some air bourn musical virus but the duo of Felix Thielemann and Mathias Schwarz. That said their reputation has spread really quickly for their own productions as well as on the remix front since getting together in 2005. Even so, it still might be a surprise as to how much of a “true dancefloor killer track for big party moments” their ‘Aorta’ remix is!

The 12” is topped off with a track called ‘Vena’ (that happens to be the name of one of our current interns) so whilst it’s a zombie plodder, it’s a bit of a favourite with the FLY crew with the added bonus of scary break as the heart monitor goes into meltdown towards the end.

Incredibly hard to keep up with the Florian’s increasing output, releases on the Flash Recordings label (he’s very excited about the 12” by Kellerkind) and global DJ travelling. He’s at The Egg in London on 19th December so it’ll be well worth going to see him play live but if not, just get the 12”.
