Francisco Allendes & Felipe Venegas - Espiritu

Andes Music hits the holy ghost of Afro-deep techno house minimal dancefloor action with a new classic track, ‘Espiritu’ as played out by Agoria, Danny Tenaglia, Josh Wink, Karotte, Butch, Shinedoe, Laurent Garnier, Ramon Tapia and Gerry Hectic!

Fans of Dani Casarano & Felipe Valenzuela’s EP Tia Anita may recall that I said, “This is definitely our kind of house music especially the Venegas global remix that sounds better on every listen”. Well, there’s not much better than that until I find that Kling Kong (Martin Eyerer’s sister label to Great Stuff Recordings - yep, those wonderful 5 year olds, see their celebratory double CD and tour dates HERE), have gone and got the man himself teaming up with Francisco Allendes (another techno/minimal DJ & producer from Chile) to record a monster track of Andes Music inspiration that is ‘Espiritu’.

Now if you’re a fan of Carl Craig and or Cesaria Evora, one of the best records ever is the Carl Craig remix of ‘Angola’ (as favoured by Gilles Peterson In Africa and Benji B to mention just two) and you’ll find that ‘Espiritu’ has that same, erm.. spirit! Get up and get down to this one, so deep and seriously percussive with jazzy keys.

On the remix, out of Santiago is producer/DJ Marcelo Rosselot (co-founder with Francisco of Andes Music) who makes the most from the vocal, pan-pipes, bongo and disco hand claps.

And fans will know Alexi Delano from the Alexi Delano & Francisco Allendes’ track ‘El Coleccionista De Piedras’ from the Death Is Nothing To Fear 4 EP that was suitably dark. In his time, Alexi (born in Chile and raised in Sweden) has worked with some of the biggest names there is in house and he keeps his ‘Espiritu’ remix uptempo and brings out the wailing vocal to the fore.

The bonus tracks ‘Alquinta’ and ‘Marimbo’ are equally percussively bangin’ and as all these tracks have been “roadtested” by Eyerer, you can guarantee that they work big time.
