And it’s not just Musique Large that got Fulgeance attention as those with good memories will recall the Doug Carn remix of ‘Suratal Ihklas’ on Heavenly Sweetness (as in Antoine Rajon and other fine releases by Anne Wirz/Four Tet, Byard Lancaster and The Rongetz Foundation plus Antoine’s Phill Jazz project including Rufus Harley and now as in Naïve Records’ with Anthony Joseph & The Spasm Band, Private Domain and in the not too distant future, Jamie Woon). And for even better memories, there was the remix on the Anachro’ Mix Experiences album by those crazy experimentalists, Sayag Jazz Machine (blimey, that was 2006!)

Well now he finds himself on the same label as Paul White and Bullion who are already favourites of Gilles Peterson, so he can now add Fulgeance as leftfield electronics meets disco, house and nodding hip-hop heads; especially on the title track itself.

‘Ann Arbor’ is a bass heavy wobbler and it attracted the attention on Detroit born Jimmy Edgar (formerly of Warp Records) for the remix that’s well stripped in the black forests. And the black forests is where you’d be on a ‘Lonely Night’ dancin’ to a ‘Sour Socca’.

This is very much on the darkside of beat heavy bass badness but ‘Sour Socca’ is a killer bin wobble like Bongos, Bleeps and Basslines in the dungeons.

Yet another big release on One-Handed Music!
